Answer

Active Chat Content allows you to add active content to your chat window. For example, you can include streaming music, videos, news, flash content and stock tickers. The possibilities are endless!

Providing Active Content in the chat window will:

  • Make your visitor's wait time for an agent more pleasant
  • Improve your visitor's experience while they're chatting
  • Increase your visitor's loyalty
  • Advertise special products or services
  • Deliver a stylish touch to your chat window

Implementation

Step 1: Create an HTML or any other web-based content page. Dimensions may vary depending on the Chat Window Skin you have selected.

Default Legacy Chat Window dimensions are: Height 180 pixels, Width 85 pixels.
Default Classic Chat Window dimensions are: Height 180 pixels, Width 85 pixels.
Default Modern Chat Window dimensions are: Height 106 pixels, Width 218 pixels.

The margin on each page should be set to "0" and this file should be uploaded to your web server.

Note: You can create content with larger or smaller dimensions. Should you choose to do so, you may need to resize the chat window in order to accommodate the new dimensions.

Step 2: In the Admin Console, customize your chat window with the URL of the Web page with the active content. Click on Visitor Experience >> Chat >> Window Editor. Select the Branding tab and the choose the Custom option.

Enter the URL of your active content page in the Image URL field.

Example: http://www.mysite.com/activewindow.htm

Step 3: You can preview the chat window before saving by pressing the "Preview" button. Press "Save All" to keep the changes. Changes take effect immediately.
